Yes. They have to take people from the back to clean. That means the other customers get the food that much more slowly.

Always, I also wipe down the table, especially if it is busy. They may not be able to get to it before someone else sits down.

it's common knowledge that you're supposed to, it applies to any restaurant where they don't have waiters.

There are some fast food restaurants that do not have trash cans around, and do not expect you to clean up after yourself.
