When you get stressed do you eat more or eat less?

moshquerade

No Lifer
or maybe it doesn't change your eating patterns? I know when I get super stressed I lose my appetite, but some people turn to food at times like that.

So which is it for you?

Smoke...

I just can't picture myself crying and eating at the sametime. Maybe if I were depressed over a long perioed of time.

I continue to eat like a horse, although the type of food changes. I tend to snack more instead of eating meals, and I'll eat whatever is on hand - fruit and veggies, cereal, chips and salsa, peanuts, etc.

No change, although my appetite is usually much less.

lol, sounds like a change to me.

Well, the question specifically asked if we eat more or less when stressed.

I said there was no change in the amount of food I eat, but my appetite was lower.

I eat less, and I drink more energy drinks.

Don't those energy drinks actually make things worse because they get you all jittery on top of being already stressed?

When it's something catastrophic, like when I heard that my 2 month old granddaughter needed open heart surgery, I lost my appetite, but if it's nothing monumental I'm dwelling over I seek comfort in food.

Stress makes me forget about food and hunger so I definitely eat less. A couple days of stress and I will lose a few pounds.

WAYYYYYYYYYYYY more. it doesn't matter if i go and take a 5 mile run to get it out of me, or sleep for 13 hours straight i just east sooo much more

When I get stressed or really depressed, I pretty much have to be forced to eat. I have zero appetite in those situations.

Well back in school during finals week I would pig out, different kind of stress I guess. If I was waiting on hearing bad news in a hospital I'd probably lose my appetite, but thats more anxiousness/hopelessness. Stress/anger = eating. Stress/depression = less eating
