When you get Banned from a BF2 server

How do they Identify you ? Is it your CD-key or IP address maybe ? I know its not your character.

Yup...you're banned by CD-hash, so that account is not able to play on that server. Also, if you're submitted to the master ban list, that hash isn't able to be used on any server running punksbusted.
