It'll be a while. I've hit the end of the road for my platform, and I plan on staying with this system for a long time.

I'm going to get a completely new system pretty soon. As soon as the 6800 Gt comes out along with the new socket 775 motherboards with pci-express, btx form and ddrII, im upgrading. That'll probably be around late july, early august.

My tenative specs will be:

A prescott processor, a asus socket 775 motherboard, ddr ii memory, a btx case and pair it with either a x800 pro or 6800 gt.

My Athlon XP 1800+ system is chugging along just fine, but I'm starting to get a bit antsy, so I think I'll do it fairly soon.

I just built a P4 3.4c with a LT 5900XT and it sure is schweet.

I'm going to build another in a couple months and give this one (P3 1Ghz) to my mom as an upgrade to XP. By then the 6800 will be out.

I'm hopefully going to wait a year ... but knowing me, I always upgrade way before necessary.

I'll probaby upgrade my vidcard within the next 4 to 6 months, I'll probably buy a couple hard drives within the next 6 months, and I'll probably get a new mobo and CPU within the next 8 months to a year.

I just got a 3Ghz P4C so at the time I'm happy...But as soon as I get some money I plan on getting another 400Gigs for hard drive space with 2x 200GB SATA drives and a new video card, either the 6800 or the x800 Im not sure yet though.

Running a 2.53ghz northwood with a 9700 pro.

I really want to go 64bit...but I'll probably end up waiting till after HL2/Doom3 come out and then evaluate my upgradeability situation at that time.

I'm currently running a Abit N7F-S mobo with at XP 2500 mobility o/C'd to 2332 which is in excess of XP3200 performance numbers. This is ponied up with at 9700 Pro video card and 512 mb of Kingstons HyperX memory...the way I see it..if the O/C'd proc holds out then my video card is my next point of concern from a performance point of view...although..at this time I have played nothing that it can't handle adequately..long term wish list would include a ATI X800 and possibley 1 gig of memory...I have to beleive that my mobo and proc. will carry me for a while.
