Probably when a lot of 2 TB+ disks are shipping. Probably sometime in 2011. My understanding is that right now most (all?) of current Intel (brand name) motherboards support UEFI. The selection is much more limited with non-Intel-brand motherboards.
Yeah, UEFI hasn't really percolated down to the consumer space yet. It's pretty much ubiquitous in servers now. Dell still calls it a "BIOS" but it is really UEFI (you can get the shell and everything).
I think most of the manufactures have shown it, I believe they are refining so the roll out goes as smooth as possible. My guess is Sandybridge and Bulldozer boards will be the first.
