stop arguing for your BF... this was the original argument
"(we don't have US cars in this country any way, we prefer quality)"
and instead, your boyfriends loose ass is getting reamed out and owned severely by my unreliable american cock

First of all Mike Gayner is my brother. Secondly nothing that I said had anything to do with defending what he said. I never expressed an opinion on American cars.

I was pointing out an error that you made when you stated that Holdens and Ford Falcons were American cars, when they're actually Australian. You then continued to put your foot in your mouth by claiming that non-American cars have poor reliability (demonstrably false) and then claiming that most NZ cars are controlled by American companies (also demonstrably false). Don't get mad at me because you can't get your facts straight.

your brothers argument was NOT that... it was NOT that most NZ cars were not american, it was that YOU DO NOT HAVE US CARS... so either get to the point, or you and your brother can continue trolling in your parents basement like little tools... hey man look, so and so posted this shit, im gunna post something to make him pissed off, then you come in and argue so i dont get banned for being a troll!

This is exactly what we needed. Two douchebag brothers trolling in a thread about the American economy.

I guess that's how ATOT rolls.

We don't have US cars here. We have Japanese cars, European cars and Australian cars. The only American cars in NZ are typically owned by collectors/enthusiasts of unreliable junk. The "American" cars you say we have are not American at all, but Australian.

RE your bolded comment, we don't even live in this same city, so well done there.

Dude, calm down. Like I said, my post had nothing to do with Gayner's argument, absolutely nothing. I was pointing out an error that you made in claiming that Falcons and Commodores are American cars when they're not, they're Australian. That's all I was saying. Chill out.

We're not in the same basement by the way, my brother and I aren't even on the same island. I have no control over what he posts on this forum, so if you have a problem with his posts then take it up with him. He's a grown up, he doesn't need me to e-defend him.

Please point to where I trolled in this thread. FFS all I've done is try to correct MikeMike when he made an error about NZ cars, something I happen to know a lot about. The fact that Gayner is my brother is completely irrelevant.

In ATOT, disagreeing with Americans = trolling.

No, shitting on American cars for no apparent reason is trolling. Sure i'm American, but I own two imported vehicles. A Mercedes 420 SEL and a Subaru Impreza. And in truth, American cars made in the past few years are ridiculously well built. With the exception of Chrysler, I would choose an American car over any imported car of the same class.

no, because every thread starts with either YOU or HIM jumping in with some thread derailing comment, and then the other arguing against whoever argues against the original derailer... its fucking bullshit. and then you each say you had a different point... Its a fucking troll trap, and you two should both be banned for trolling every thread you get a chance to.

Really? Then it should be trivial for you to find more examples.

We don't actively coordinate our posts, we rarely discuss ATOT outside of ATOT and we're not scheming against you. We happen to have very similar personalities (being genetically identical and all) so will often share opinions. If it feels like we're "ganging up" then I apologize, but we both have as much right to post here as anyone else. FWIW I have been actively working on NOT trolling or being a dick to other members on this forum for the past few months, I'm not sure the same can be said for Gayner.

So if I agree with anyone else on this forum am I ganging up on you? Or am I not allowed to agree with people I'm related to?

His only posts in that thread were a Youtube video and an expression of perplexity at yet another of your inane posts. Hardly ganging up on you.

Seriously? My post was an off-the-cuff comment (the word "puritan" should clue you in that I wasn't being serious). There were several people lamenting the uptightness of America in that thread, but only one of them was related to me. Hmm.

I didn't even post in that thread. I never even read it.

Stating that private health care is available in my country is an attack on your country now? Sorry if I hurt your delicate feelings.

you call out the muslim post, then suddenly your bro shows up saying how america sucks...

I was asking for a source for the information that was being posted, I made no call outs. In the other thread on the same subject I commented that I wouldn't have been at all surprised if religion was the motivation but I just wanted to see where the information was coming from.

Honestly dude I think you're seeing what you want to see. My brother certainly expresses a greater anti-American sentiment than I do, but I think it's bullshit for you to call us out as colluding against you. We have the right to post here without being accused of having some agenda. Some people agree with me, some don't, and how closely we're related shouldn't make any difference whatsoever.

edit: LOL bro got there first ><

Snipped my whole post because I think my brother covered it nicely, but I will say this: criticising the USA's fucked legal system or what is hilariously called public health care isn't anti-American. Many ATOTers feel the same way, but you dont impute them with this charge. So is it only OK to criticise the USA if you're a citizen?

not necessarily.....

chumps like me who graduate at the end of this year will inherit great prices on our stock options...

If you think you're getting stock options right out of college, you're going to be sorely disappointed.

you guys sound like the 2 Mormon brothers in Ocean's Eleven (12, and 13) who are always arguing and turn it into an art form so they can use their arguing skill in casino robberies, Casey Affleck and James Caan's son.

as far as the economy, i suggest Chris Martenson's website "The Crash Course" to understand what is going on. in terms of explaining the inter-relation of fractional reserve banking and the peaking and decline of oil production, he does a good job of explaining it -
http://www.chrismartenson.com/

to answer the original question - in a generation or 2. if at all. unemployment is not 10.2 %, it's closer to twice that. ref. John Williams at Shadowstats.com.
http://www.shadowstats.com/
Williams is a career economist who found that the US gov. is continually moving the goalposts in terms of the way they measure inflation. so he collects all the data and calculates the numbers using the same techniques the government did 20-30 years ago. then sells the data via subscription for a few $100 a year.

:awe: I haven't seen the movie so I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not. I'll go ahead and assume it is :p :awe:

Not that a democrat is in office, there will not be a recession until at least a republican gets the white house back.

These are good times my friend...

Eh, 2009 recession is all but over where I'm from. Sure, the US dollar is fucked, and we won't be seeing US cars for much longer (we don't have US cars in this country any way, we prefer quality). Other than that, it's fine over here.

Apart from your intentionally incendiary "we prefer quality". The real reason you dont have american built cars is that there are closer american subsidiaries that send cars to your little backwater. Why would we want to send cars all the way from detroit when aus is so much closer?

By the way the biggest selling vehicles in NZ are Toyotas, most certainly not American built or controlled.

mmmm...if you bought a Camry or a Corolla, sorry they're built in America. At least the majority of them. Yes they make it in Australia but NZ still imports them from the USA.

And as far as quality is concerned, American made Camrys fare much better than Japanese or even locally built ones.
