Everything you hear is just Kazaa this and Napster that..
How long till they start hitting IRC and Newsgroups?
But if they busted newsgroups wouldnt they also bust the ISPs since they are the ones giving you access to newsgroups?
Shouldn't they, then, bust the Kazaa user's ISP because they allow them to use Kazaa? Why aren't they blocking Kazaa?!
Its like people buying guns, not everyone is going to buy a gun and go out and shoot someone. Just because someone uses Kazaa, or newsgroups, they shouldn't be punished for it -- unless they are actually doing something illegal on it. But then we can always monitor what people are doing, right? That wouldn't be too privacy oriented, would it?
I don't think they will hit IRC or newsgroups until these become massive distribution sites. They want to keep it under the radar, and if they began to bust people using IRC and newsgroups for sharing media the whole world would learn of a new alternative for file sharing.
