When will the XP2800 be out?

Yes they're "out" per se, but the only place I've seen em at is Newegg.com, and you can only purchase them if you also purchase a motherboard, with the lowest being 99$, in addition to being a 375$ chip to begin with. Save yourself the trouble and go P4 if you're conisidering spending that much, or get a 2600/2700+.

Exactly. You wait for Barton, then people will be say that the Hammer is just round and so on and so forth. If I was entering the high performance end, Id go 2400+ (must be a B core) or 2600/2700+ with an NForce2. I dont think I'd wait for a Barton.

No 2800+ I can find yet, but OEM 2700+ can be got for $386 and Boxed 2600+ for about $338 (plus tax in CA). Both run at 333 instead of 266, so I'd expect you'd need PC2700 minimum.

My KT400 based motherboard claims to support them, so if you'd want to buy 'em and ship them here, I will be glad to test them for you 🙂😀

I'm hoping the barton's will be out by the end of January, at least the "out" on paper. By the way, on the MSI K7N2G new bios, it lists support for the new barton 2500+.

The original Hammer roadmap had Q4 2002 to Q1 2003 as the release period. There is
3 months left before Hammer is offically 'late'. I fully expect AMD to use CEBIT trade show in mid March
as the offical launch of Hammer.
