Just wondering if you guys had any info on it. Will it be supierior to the PS2? Do you think that it will have as good of game support?

This'd probably get more responses in OT...but if I was you I'd check on ign.com. They will most likely have a release date (it may not be concrete) but I don't know about price.

Fall 2001
there trying for a sub-300 price.
Supported makers as of now.
Acclaim, Activision, Bandai, Capcom, Codemasters, Crave, Eldos, Fox, Hudson Soft, Infogames, Konami, Midway, Namco, Rage, Red Storm, Sierra, TAke-Two, THQ, Titus, Ubi Soft, Microsoft(duh)

I got the spec's on all three systems here if ya want, GameCube, PS2 and X-box.

Not sure where I heard it, but I remember hearing an outragous price yesterday, $400. That may just be the manufacturing cost, since all consoles in the past sell at a loss (I think the PS2 costs Sony $480, at least before the die shrinks). If the selling price *is* $400, no doubt the XBox will price itself out of the competition.

It's coming out Fall if things are on schedule. There's some trademark conflict about the XBox name, though MS seems confident they are in a sufficiently different market, and is a non-issue.

KpocAlypse, I would be interested in hearing about the specs of those 3 systems, I have sent you a PM as well, but maybe you could post them in this thread too for all to see.

Well, I was planning on sending you a PM, but you have it disabled, you may want to enable that so others can communicate with you. But please post those specs if you will. Thanks

It will retail for $299, in fall of this year. For everyone who says it will be exepensive or they will take a huge loss, they won't. Its fairly simple, Intel it basically giving the CPUs to them for free, and the GPU is going to cost around $40. 8GB hard drive is dirt cheap. The Audio/Networking chip will cost less than $20. Most expensive thing will be the RAM. MS will not take that big off loss per unit. They would if they sold it for $199, but they are selling it at $299, which is about the cost of making them. The R&D was expensive, but so was the R&D for the PS2.
