When will the use of crosshairs end?

As you'll recall, last May the SEIU seized on a brilliant new tactic for protests. It seems that if you disagree with someone's business decisions its now fair game to show up at the guy's house and scare the wits out of his children. (Or at least that's what happened last May when the SEIU staged a protest at a Bank of America executive's house.)

Well, now Wal-Mart has announced they are building stores in metro D.C. Wal-mart is non-union (that's why goods there are so gosh darn affordable), so obviously the local unions are not happy about this development. So what's their plan? The fine folks at Wal-Mart Free DC (charming little smiley face logo on the website there) want to go protest at the developer's house. They've announced this protest by widely distributing a flyer with the developer's home address on it with some crosshairs thrown in for good measure. This should end well:

Look like those evil conservatives are at it again

(So are unions no liable for the trampling deaths at Walmart?)

fighting progress have always been every union's strength. What they really want is not attainable in a capitalist society, moreover, when labor was in shortage they got what they wanted, between the uncontrolled influx of immigrant labor and outsourcing, they are hurting the blue collars more than helping...

Hope they have a permit for the demonstration and stay off his property. Other than that, yay America?

Those people in front of the BofA lawyer house were completely over the line:

I'd sit on my porch with every gun I could scrounge up and just dare people to step on the lawn.

Giving in lets them win.

Don't let the terrorists win.

I'd be walmart employs more people than every SEIU organization combined.

The problem with Wal Mart is it takes profits out of communities, unlike local businesses. Their business model also forces manufacturing jobs out of this country and into China, by design.

You're also assuming those jobs wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Wal Mart. Well people need to buy stuff. If it wasn't at Wal Mart it would be at a local store or a big box that pays more like Target or Costco.

you mean all the other stores in US including the mom n pops sell non-Chinese made goods?
Everyone sells Chinese crap, walmart brings competition and cheaper prices and minimum wage employment.

YAWMT.....

Doesn't matter what WalMart wants. It's what the community that's affected by WalMart's presence wants.

If WalMart wants to put up a big box store smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood with strong union influence, lots of small retail businesses and mom and pop shops, and expects those folks to roll out the red carpet for them, well, Walmart's been down that road before many many times and know where they are welcome or not.

It's those areas that appear contestable to them that they want to exploit before some other operation like theirs gets the jump on them. That's where the battlezone is.

Our neighborhood board decided that Walmart was not welcome in our then brand spanking new neighborhood and we've managed to keep them out for over 10 years since they've tried to "invade" us. Target, Kmart, Costco etc. have been welcomed as good neighbors. What really set most of us off was the high-handed arrogant attitude the WalMart rep's displayed at our neighborhood board meeting, along with the presence of more police officers than we thought was necessary.

Imagine that: Walmart reps bringing unionized City&County Police with them for their own safety. I still wonder who the police officers would have sided with had things gone crazy. lol

Where do you think the products that Target, Kmart and Costco carry are made?

You "liberals" are truly loony.
