How is this game less than 6gb when MW3 is like 15gb?

Bought it when I got home from work today. I go 2 years without buying a game for over $20, and here I am buying 2 $60 games in one day!

massive amounts of heavily scripted sequences and textures to make up for the fact that its running on an ancient engine will quickly balloon the size of the game. BF3 isn't even 15GB, weighing in just over 11GB

Portal 2 is a similar instance, also over 11GB, quite a lot for a game of its stature on the Source engine

omg I installed that crack and now my desktop is filled with rainbow colored flying dildos and cats dancing!

Hmm PC reviews are not positive.. guess the 360 is the flagship version again..

bethsoft forums full of PC gamers that are upset on alot of things..
it truly is just another console port with nothing special at all on the PC..
in fact in a lot of ways worse.

sigh.. I'll be waiting.

It sucks, but in all fairness, Bethseda has repeatedly stated that the consoles version was the lead platform for Skyrim.

I was expecting nothing more then your avg console port for this. Thankfully we will have mods to take care of crap.

I can't access the Bethsoft forums at work. What are the main complaints being listed?

Here's some of the reviews that are out:

IGN: http://pc.ign.com/articles/121/1212033p1.html

RPS: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/11/10/skyrim-review-pc/

I just read the summaries since I'm trying to go into the game blind. All the above seem to be positive though.

PC is suffering from interface issues
control issues..
it actually plays better with the Xbox controller than M/KB apparently.

lack of video options
many many things.

its a 100% console port..

those are ALL console ( 360) reviews

The RPS review is on the PC version, says it in the first sentence or two. I didn't look/read any of the other reviews though.

PC Gamer and RPS review the console version?

Going to pick it up tomorrow - day off.

Going for the PC version just so my TV can be free. I still have to finish Uncharted 3 first.

most of the others did review the console I was basing on what I read so far..
but I take reviews like this with a grain of salt as I still think most big reviews are bought and paid for.

user reviews are far more concrete.
I dont want to play this game with an Xbox controller nor do I want to have to use 1 of my 3 monitors instead of eyefinity with everything turned on.
the lack of support for anything other than base console graphics just flat sucks.

Alright so I was going to wait and be patient before throwing down $59.99 for it on Steam. But I just can't handle myself and I went and purchased it just now. Downloading at 2MB/s!

It will be the first game to push my new rig! I'm very excited.

Here's the last paragraph from the RPS review of the PC version:

Maybe I’ll do all that next time. First though, I really fancy a nice set of Glass Armour, so time to explore a few caves for ore to mine then spend some good, honest hours at the forge. I may be some time. I may be the rest of the year, and beyond. Not only is Skyrim, for my money, the game of the year, but… oh this is hard. Very hard. I’m sorry Morrowind – I love you, but I don’t need you anymore. I think, at last, there is a new Best Elder Scrolls Ever.
Midnight can't come soon enough.

Am I going to experience some bugs during tonight's game play? Probably. Still can't freaking wait!

Well the RPS review of PC Skyrim is filled with good stuff about the game. I read it diagonally but didn't saw anything mentionned about controls.

+ Details and textures. The new engine seems to be quite beautiful
+ Voice acting is improved from Oblivion
+ Lots of stuff to do. The reviewer put 30 hours in the game without even scratching the surface of the main storyline

- Forgettable NPCs

Other things go wrong, and can disrupt that precious immersion. The shopkeepers who eerily greet me and offer me bargains in their sleep from beds a floor up while I’m invisibly robbing their stores at night, the way climbing rocky mountainsides on horseback has your steed appearing to hover in thin air on occasion, the monsters who get stuck behind rocks while chasing me, the arrow that’s been protruding from my character’s face for the last ten hours, the characters who don’t seem to notice me robbing them blind in plain sight… It’s not buggy as such, it’s just that there are a few cracks in this enormous wall. Many will be patched, I’m sure, but it is testament to just how much the game gets right and just how much it offers that these slips didn’t ultimately bother me.

I'll finish with this quote:

I think, at last, there is a new Best Elder Scrolls Ever.

Well NZ/AUS can already play and most of them seem happy with the game?? Not sure where this negative thing is coming from.

Gotta say the game looks pretty ugly though. But so did the Fallout games and they're awesome so not a big deal.
