When will Rice resign?

Before the election or after? I'm guessing she will resign after the election.

By the way, I'm not one of those who think she did a terrible job, but I do think she came off as evasive.

And, I don't blame Bush for 911. He's bad but not venal. Let's not forget who pulled that act of war.

I don't blame Bush for 9/11 either. I blame the r@tb@st@rds from Afghanistan and Suadi Arabia for 9/11. I place the blame on those who planned it ,carried it out, and follow the leaders that called for it.

I blame Bush for claiming Iraq was goingto attack us with WMD's if we don't get Saddam first. I blame him for getting us into a war based onm a lie, and not having any exit strategy for the end of hostilities. Over 600 US soldiers dead since Bush declared victory on that damned photo op set up airccraft carrier. I blame Bush for his tax give away to the rich and infamous, and his energy policy designed by his Veep and his oil cronies behind closed doors, EVERY FRIGGEN TIME I HAVE TO PUT GAS IN MY CAR TO GO TO THE SUB PAID JOB I HAVE BECAUSE THE ECONOMY SUCKS A BIG ONE!!!!

Condelleza Rice is irelevent. She couldn't do anything to affect policy, and she never will. Neither will Powell. They were just EO employees to show the public how "fair and honest" Bush is, alla Karl Rove whispering sweet nothings in Bush's ear. Tokenism at its finest hour. :disgust:

Why should she resign?

I say the same thing, I watched her today and she made everyone look like fools, But I am a military man that thinks we were right to find and kill the ones that did 9/11, I don't think anything could have stoped it, I back the war in Iraq and the soldiers that are doing a bettter job than the news put out, If I thought it would help I would give my life up over there in a heartbeat, Just my 2cents

Resign? Not likely at all. Apparantly she has known President Bush (both of them) for quite a while, and I highly doubt she will be asked to ever step down.
Not to mention for the most part she 'owned' the commission, so why should she?

I buy into it about as much as Cad and Company buy into theirs, thank you.😉

And I like my job. I do it because I like it. I don't do it for the money. If i did it for the money, hell yes, I would look for something else. My job is helping those less fortunate than me find employment to sustain themselves rather than be a drain on the government. Rather noble, don't you think? 🙂

The truth that I speak of you don't even address. You must be a Cad supporter. figures.

Interesting view on Dr. Rice and the bigger picture:

"Has there been any discussion regarding three hours of Bush-defending testimony on CNN - by a black woman?

This morning, the face of the Bush administration was not old, was not male, and was not white."

By the way, I think she did a fine job.

She did a very good job, when most of that group was trying to attack the administration (it was their job i understand).

I strongly believe that 9/11 couldnt have been prevented, even if we were operating as we are today with the offices of homeland security and the patriot act.

I agree . . . the DHS and Patriot Act aren't worth poo. But only a fool would reject the notion that actually enforcing policy on visas wouldn't have made a difference . . . or making airlines do an immediate review of flight security procedures . . . or requiring the CIA to drop a hint when known terrorists enter the country.

As for the topic at hand, Rice will not resign. She's being groomed for her next position as Secretary of State . . . maybe even VP if it looks like it might buy Bush some minority or female votes.

WTF? Their job was to attack the administration? Wow, I have now heard it all.
Their job is a FACT FINDING job. They are supposed to collect information and recommend changes. By attacking the administration at every opportunity, several members of this panel have showed their true colors. They are not looking for information, they are looking for CONfirmation to preconceived notions to fit their little political agendas. They aren't searching for truth, they are searching for what they want to hear. Pathetic really, and a complete waste of time.

If Bush is re-elected why would he dump Powell and make Rice SOS? She seems ill-suited for that job. Maybe CIA director, but even so...I think she's now a liability for the President. Rove will kick her out the back door if he can pursuade the President to do it. But Bush is loyal as a my excellent compatriot dog....

To those who think Rice owned the Commission: I DON'T THINK SO. After re-watching some of it on the news shows I noticed her voice was quivering, her answers were halting, and she often tried (I counted 4, actually) to give a non-responsive answer. As witnesses go, she was much less effective than Clarke, though I personally like her much better.

Like a few others have already said, WHY?

If Americans want to blame someone, blame the cowardly idiots that did it! A lot of Americans want to point fingers and blame someone, anyone but the real culprits. It's done and we need to do something. Let's unleash the military and let them do what NEEDS to be done. It seems that not many Americans are up for that. Why is that?

You hear of American deaths everyday, but you don't hear of any Iraqi deaths among the ones that are suppose to be helping us, help them? Where are they? You'd figure they would want to live free, and would be willing to fight for it. I guess they aren't made that way.

I shouldn't get fired up this early, sorry.

Bayou:

That argument is being used by those opposed to the war to justify our leaving. If the Iraqis don't want freedom enough to fight for it why should American boys die for something they don't care much about? Unfortunately, now that we've blundered into Iraq, we will have to pick up the pieces and PAY through the nose in money and lives.

uhhhhh

Moron Post alert!

Conjur:

Well, he isn't a moron, that's a bit strong, but I would disagree that she did a fine job. I think now that she's basically fallen on her sword and committed political suicide for the President she should resign.

Robert,

I spent over 21 years in the military, and I'm damn glad I'm not over there. I have friends there and they are not happy at all, they're just not seeing support from anyone there or the support from the people they thought they would see it from. I hate seeing Americans die, and seeing them die for a people that seem to not care. It has to suck to know you can win, but you're not allowed too. It appears that with the way things are going and the path not changed, all the American deaths will have been for nothing and that really angers me more than I say or write. Our leader's need to make hard decisions now. We need to get the full support of the Iraqi people or leave, but that's not going to happen until after the election. Let the military loose to do the joob or pull them out, but don't leave them there to prove a point.
