When will McDonalds shrink the size of the hamburger patty, again?

w/beef prices going up due to drought (see my thread on Costco Ribeyes now $10/lb), i can see McDoanlds either raising the price of the $1 McDouble or shrinking the size of the patty to keep it at the magical $1 price point.

and when was the last time their beef patty shrank?

This

They can just add more pink slime!

They pulled pink slime almost a year before grocery stores stopped using it.

Pink slime is safe. It does however give a gritty texture to ground beef. Pink slime only became an issue because no one had to disclose they were using it unless it exceed more than 15% of the mixture.

If you were buying most forms of ground beef from the grocery store prior to pink slim becoming a new story you were buying ground beef with 14.99% pink slim mixed in.

When the price of cheese went up, Micky D's raised the cost of the Double Cheeseburger and added in the McDouble which is just a Double Burger with a slice of cheese instead of two. So, this time..I expect they will raise the cost of the McDouble and introduce the McHalf which is a slice of cheese and half of a hamburger patty for $1.

YAH....Fox News debunks whatever. All Fox News does is conveniently leaving important facts to make the story much more interesting and interject anti-big government propaganda.
LOL P&N----->>>>>

Where are you getting your important facts from?

I came here to post this : (

Yeah because McDonalds use ribeyes from Costco to make their hamburgers. One can dream...

I haven't seen rise in ground beef prices. Trader Joe's still sell their 80/20 ground beef for $2.69/lb.

Isn't Trader Joe's that store that sells contaminated food? lol

Trader Joe's is on par with other large retailers like Wegmans and Whole Foods when it comes to number of recalls, food safety experts Yahoo! Shine spoke with agreed. Anyone selling lots of packaged food is at risk, Reef said, because "the more human hands that are on a food and the more machinery that have come in contact with a food, the more likely it is to be recalled. We see more manufactured product recalls than we do in the fruit and vegetable arena." Still, she pointed out that 18 people died from eating cantaloupe in 2011.

So yes, they are. As is Wegmans, Whole Foods, and every other grocery store. Trader Joes isn't any worse than the others.

I do recall a report some 15 years back that showed Costco as having the best quality and freshest meats, but who knows where they are now.
