I like the Accord's styling but I wonder when the Camry will change, I think it's around 2003?

I think most japanese car makers do a new refresh of the overall body design every 2 years. US...maybe every 4 years.

i don't want them to change it all if they are going to jack it up like they did the civic--backend is derivative of a ford focus :( (edit: how do you make mad face? tia)
they and toyota are resting on their laurels--i am ready for nissan or hyundai to come and kick them in the tubt

i was going to buy an Accord, Camry or an Avalon. When I compared each car at the dealer, they all looked so bland and dull inside and out. So I went with the Max, which has a simple, yet elegant interior, and bold exterior (a little too bold in the rear :))

the camry is redesigned for 2002 i believe.

the accord... 2003?
frankly i think the current front end changes make the coupe look worse.

The Camry gets restyled/made over for '02
The Accord gets restyled/made over for '03

Japanese cars typically get a facelift after 2 years and a new model after 5

Ever notice that from the side the camry and accord sedans and the solara and accord coupes look damn near exactly alike?

camry is a bit bigger than the accord. a friend's camry (don't know the year, don't care for toyotas much, but its the previous body style) looks a lot like my taurus, which i'm pretty sure is not a coincidence. my roommate mistook a solara for one of the newer CLs... amazing considering he drives a CL.

I actually did the exact same thing the other night! Two black cars parked next to each other. The front ends of the two cars look oh so much alike. Someone has been visiting someone else's design studios.

It is... you know how the manufacturers always date a year later. It'll be called the 2002, but will debut in 2001.

You mean Honda actually changes the body design? Accords have looked the same to me for about the last ten years. *snore*

<< Honda has a 4 year product cycle. I think the early 90's Accords were the best. >>

Honda used to have a 4 year cycle, but that's changed. The 92 Prelude lasted 5 years, the 94 Integra has lasted 8 and the previous Civic (96) lasted 5. According to NFS4, The current (98) Accord will last 5 years as well, but I was hoping for only 4, since the current generation kind of sucks. What I mean by that is that the current Accord doesn't have the same "years ahead of the rest" feel that previous generations had. It's kind of blah, except for the 2.3L 4-cylinder VTEC engine. It's so smooth and with a stick shift, (which, incidentally, now sucks because it's now cable operated) it really moves quite nicely. Also, you can't get better gas mileage in a mid-size car.

I just thought of a day a few weeks ago when I saw 5 Accords parked on the same street, each one a different body style. There was a very rusty (I'm in Minnesota) old 84-85, an 86-89 that wasn't looking too bad for it's age, a 90-93, a 94-97, and a 98+. *Wake up!*
