Moving to Canada :D

You'll probably have to wait til VDSL comes out. You'll know when they start hauling fiber optic cable to your back yard.

DSL at home gets like 100k down/15k up.. just became available like 2 years ago. Two-way cable still isn't available in my home area. Get around 3-4 mbs down/up here at college.

My Adelphia is $40 a month, I'm paying for 1.5 down, 256 up. DSL reports average around 2 down and 250 up. So I'm happy... :D

I use to have a 3 mbit down and 1.5 mbit up cable connection. Then RCN sold out to Patriot media and brought our ass's down to 1.5/256 . Man Do I miss those 300-400KBs downloads; RCN had to spoil us.

RCN showed that the network could handle such bandwidth requirements with ease considering the 70 million dollars they invested in central Nj to re-build the network. All that money wasted.

Blacksburg, VA.... only service provider is NTC, which bases their connection on Virginia Tech Servers, which blows, because we are paying for 10 mbit ethernet and cant get over 1 mb/s.... mothersuckas

Sure, but it's spendy, and a T1 is only 1.5Mbps. Only advantage over cable is that it's a dedicated line instead of shared.
And it's 1.5 up and down.

Going with Insight?
Time Warner overs 3mbit also.

They recently bumped up the speed... seeing consistent 400k/s, not just bursts.

Internet Speed

That's University of Illinois's dorm access speed.

Only downside, only 750MB of bandwidth every 24hr.

Good thing is any network activity within the campus doesn't count towards that.

Feel free to drool now.
