Yeah...bit the bullet. Triple Play with the HD pack. I'm tired of messing with my MyHD card for my HD OTA viewing. The software tuner keeps hosing and locking up. That, and I'm lucky to get 1mbps down with DSL.

no kidding. 2.6kB/sec here. But finally, after years of waiting, HSI is finally available in my area. its comcast, but still better than 2.6. With that being said, I called 2 weeks ago and the earliest they could schedule me for an install is this saturday. Well, two of my neighbors also ordered it and have been waiting for their cable guy to come install it. He said they would be there last week, yet never showed and never called. And if they called comcast about it, comcast said sorry, but you'll just have to wait, and "No, we won't give you a months free service or even $20 off your bill."
 
I got one more question about HSI availabilty. Can any company lay the lines needed for high speed cable or DSL? Cuz just in the first week of availability, 4 outta the 6 houses on my street ordered the HSI. Seems like someone should have thought about connecting us years ago and could have made a lot of money.

I don't use dslreports. Its not very accurate.

Yes way, when downloading I get 1000-1400 kilobytes a second provided the host can keep up.

I've found DSLReports to be the most consistent (compared to say, bandwidthplace and defunct speedtest). 1MB/sec? GEEBUS! You must be right next to their main head 😀

no you're very right. I got 150 ping with my 56k for 10$ a month.

 
Move to Canada. 10mbit cable connections go for the same as American 1.5mbit cable, and the government doesn't see anything wrong with stealing American DirecTV - anything transmitted over the air in Canada is free for public consumption, and you're not allowed to encrypt anything for transmission over the air in Canada unless you're a government agent.
