Resellers have to clear their old stock, and chances are they'll buy the lower-priced new batches from AMD but keep their prices the same for more profits. Any price drop has an associated delay with it.

Bah I was wondering if thats what was going to happen, I hope you are wrong tho.
Maybe if people bought them and it took 30 days or less they could always try for a 30 day money back gaurentee type of thing.

All these AMD fanboys, and nobody's asking about the x2-3800+ EE SFF? Cmon, a 35W X2? I've been wanting to see this thing overclocked since May. Sadly, even after the price cuts, it'll still cost around $230. Ugh.

I know Anandtech has one, but they haven't said anything about it's OC potential. If I had the extra scratch, I'd be tempted to pick one up and test it myself . . .

Furthermore, I've been hearing that AM2 has problems with maintaining a 1T command rate while the RAM is heavily overclocked (260 mhz or higher, or something like that). Any truth to this?

other than a pentium 90 (sorry, lost my head for a few months) have been an AMD user since the 486 days. probably 10 different speeds and iterations of chips since then. not gonna leave amd now. am however, gonna move to a lovely dual core 939 once the price drops hit, gonna mate it with an asus A8N-VM CSM. one can say these are bad times for amd until they get their new tech out the door in a year or so, others can say the price/performace ratios wil favor the consumers with the price cuts. i am in the later camp. besides, not being a gamer, how much horsepower do we need?
