Just wondering if AMD has announced when the 5000+ X2 AM2 CPU will be available for sale. I saw the document showing it for sale on July 24 for just $404, but I don't even see it for sale now!
I know, the 5000+ isn't for sale now...not for everyone at least...there may be few chips available but i don't see all stores saying fully available...
look at the 4600+, it ain't totally available now even after 2 months...hope they can ship enough chips when the price drop comes..
Eh, it seems AMD is working hard to alienate & disgruntle their customers, & it's working thus far
Okay, not really, but their current decisions in dropping certain CPUs from production & not lowering prices fast enough to compete with the P-Ds have been a tad poor IMO.
Who knows. My guess is there's a big rush on AMD's part to promote Opteron production for the workstation/server market. They may be neglecting desktop CPU production under the assumption that most desktop buyers would be content with old s939 parts already in stock. Interestingly enough, supplies of single-core AM2 parts don't seem to be low.
