When will 7900 series be available in brick & mortar stores?

Just curious. I thought maybe today, so I went to Fry's and CompUSA. They didn't have them. In fact, the salesperson at both stores didn't know what I was talking about when I asked.

why would any at'er buy something from a retail store when it's a known fact that buying it online is WAY cheaper?

well, unless you really need something like NOW (like the women organization N.O.W., they just want everything/rights NOW)

Yeah, I just wanted it now. But, I would have only bought at store if the markup was less than thirty bucks. I'll probably just end up getting it from Newegg, though.

UK Answer

All 3 local Hardware Retailers in my home town have 7900GT's in stock. Also Novatech (online & Brick & Mortar) has 7900GT's & GTX's in stock.

For the record, I buy some kit from Novatech with a nice 15% Discount (family member works there).

hasn't been true on new launches lately...

B&M stores have sold product at release for MSRP, where etailers have price gouged (sometimes considerably). besides, then you don't have to wait for a day or more for it to arrive (specially if you have to order on a friday).
