I guess it was around 13. Fried my MFM controller in a failed 286 transplant into a 386. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise 'cause that gave me reason to plead for one of those Pentium doohickies.

Well, when I was 12 or 13 I watched my brother work inside cases, but I didn't actually go inside one until I was 14. Spent an hour figuring out how to add an 8MB SIMM
