i had a friend in college that could complete expert in like 230 seconds.
it was amazing.
he has this game down to an art form

230? That's slow!!! I'm not even that good but I can complete expert on average in 160-170 seconds, and I'm willing to bet some people here can do it even quicker!

I've done it in around 90.

my ex-gf was a maniac minesweeper player, she completed the expert level in an average 110-120. i am not nearly as good as she was.

yesterday. My best time was a little over 100 seconds. Usually it's around 130-150.
I love it. absolutely addicting.

My 6 year old son saw me playing it on my cell phone the other day while we waited on our food.

I explained the rules to him and he won on his first try, no joke.

Thought it was a fluke, but he won about three games out of ten there after.

There are some videos floating around of people doing expert at something like 45 seconds. It was so insane. I average 110 seconds, and think that's plenty fast.

Damn!

I'm missing something because my fastest time is about 125. Do you guys use this right-left clicking thing?

From Minesweeper Help:

  • If you have marked all the mines around a numbered square, you can uncover the remaining squares around it by clicking the numbered square with the left and right mouse buttons simultaneously. If not all mines surrounding the numbered square have been marked, the remaining covered or unmarked squares will appear to be depressed (or flash) when the numbered square is clicked with both buttons simultaneously.

i found shift-left click to be easier

ive' never completed an expert game though. too much guessing needed

expert is a joke. try googling the one that covers the entire 1600*1200 screen. heard it takes days to come close to finishing it.

the game gets stuck at points where you have to take an absolutely random guess.

Yah that drives me nuts. I haven't played it in years.

agree completely. 280 seconds was the best I got in expert, and that was by completely luck

17 seconds for beginner. just now.

the key is the simultaneous click of left and right. you'll complete it a lot faster.

I love setting the grid as big as it will go and setting th emines to as small as it will go. One click and you win most of the time.
