When was the last time you saw a REALLY GOOD movie?

I'm talking about Forrest Gump or Shawshank Redemption quality good. Not just the kind of movie you enjoy for an evening and forget about, but one that you like watching years after your first viewing. Recently, it seems like I've seen a lot movies that have left me unenthused and I'm starting to doubt that any superb movies have even been released in the last few years.

The moral? I want to watch a REALLY good one, but I need advice. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Gattaca is another movie I would say is REALLY GOOD.

EDIT2: I'm realizing that this is turning into a good movies thread, which misses the point. I want to know about movies that are in your top five. Are there any that were released within the last few years?

EDIT3: Refinement of the question:
"Are there any movies that were released in the past 3-5 years that you would put on your 'Top 10 Ever' list?" I expanded the list to 10 to give a little more flexibility.

Forrest Gump and Shawshank were REALLY GOOD? If that's the case, I probably shouldn't make a suggestion

I haven't been to an actual theater in over 2 years, unless you count taking my niece/nephew to Spiderman 2 at the drive-in.
I watch movies all the time at home. My system blows away any theater, other than the huge screen.

So I guess the last "good" movie I watched was In Harm's Way. Oldie.

Not a bad movie. I saw it in the theater and then rented it the other night. Probably end up picking it up on dvd.

For my money I'm going with Gigli.

I thought Shawshank was MUCH better but they are both good films at the very least.

Well, I enjoyed it, too. But I wouldn't exactly call it a classic of American Cinema.

(since my other idea was stolen:|;):p)

I liked Traffic a lot. I'll have to check out Training Day, but at first glance, it strikes me as another cheesy action movie.

No, please do. I'd like to know what you think are exceptional movies if not Forrest Gump and Shawshank.

There was something about that movie that I really liked, but I'm not sure what it was. I can honestly say I've never come away from a movie feeling so good about feeling so depressed.

ROTK Extended edition *drools*
The extended edition fills out so many missing links from the theater version.
