after you have 3 movies in your cart/queue, do they automatically ship the movies to you? or do you need to confirm and request they be shipped?

Automatic if they are in stock. ("Now")

Roll of the dice if they are "short wait" / "long wait" -- netflix will wait a few hours to try to fill these if they are at the head of your queue, then move on to ones that are in stock (automatically).

i'd advise you to put more then 3 in the queue. if the ones you put as top priority don't happen to be in stock, you'll get nothing.

some good easy stuff to add to really bloat your queue? 24 season 1, sex and the city, six feet under, sopranos,...

my queue has over a hundred

Last week I noticed they have a new type of status for movies they are sending out. Instead of "Released to Ship," it said "Shipping."

The movie was in stock at the time it went to "Shipping," but it stayed "Shipping" for a whole 5 days before Netflix e-mailed me and said they wouldn't be able to ship it in a reasonable amount of time so it was going back into my queue. I checked my queue and the movie was still in stock "Available Now." WTF!?!

A bunch of centters across the US, if you're lucky, one is near you. Here in WA it's Tacoma so travel time is often 1 day each way, plus another day for processing.
