He didn't really need a tri-turbo to make a good show car. It prolly drives like crap on top of that... but then since when do people daily drive show cars? Or even drive their show cars?
Actually the Aztec is creative. Seriously. The entire interior with its cool features is very creative packaging..as is the exterior, sure its ugly, but the concept is pretty creative.
Lots of ppl daily drive their show cars, its more fun that way.

- A lot of people do actually take their cars to the track
- You can never have a car with "good enough" brakes or handling
- There are times when good acceloration is a safety feature
All this is ignoring driver ability which often means a lot more than the car's ability (i.e. in theory a 911 should be faster around the track than a 944, but it isn't until you get to the professional level that you find 911's actually getting better lap times).
