Some people just do not know when to shut the heck up.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Maxi Sopo was having so much fun "living in paradise" in Mexico that he posted about it on Facebook so all his friends could follow his adventures. Others were watching, too: A federal prosecutor in Seattle, where Sopo was wanted on bank fraud charges.
Tracking Sopo through his public "friends" list, the prosecutor found his address and had Mexican authorities arrest him. Instead of sipping pina coladas, Sopo is awaiting extradition to the U.S.
Sopo learned the hard way: The Feds are on Facebook. And MySpace, LinkedIn and Twitter, too.

He's a criminal, it's built in.

Well, he's a white-collar criminal. Some of those are smart. I mean, if you're smart enough to make good $ in bank fraud and make it out of the country, you're potentially smart enough to pay for shit in cash and to not update your freaking facebook account with your address.

This. I don't think it's easy to get out of the country when you're wanted by the authorities... telling people where i am would be the last thing on my mind.

Ever visit the southern US border? I hear you can walk across in broad daylight! I bet there's some people here in the US that could confirm this for us. :D

The guy is hiding in Mexico, it's not like he went to Europe or something.

Walked across the border into mexico, walked right across back. Think the last time I did this was in 2009 or 2008. Before the whole drug war thing and the warnings not to go into mexico.

A former coworker has a ranch in west Texas, part of it resides in Mexico, the other in the US. He can cross any time he wants and it's just mountains around anyway.
