I'm having problems with my current rig and considering I've had it for a good couple of years I'll be upgrading in the fall.

Is there any particularly new video cards or CPUs coming out around that time that I should look for?
 
Theres always somthing better coming next week/month/quarter so the answer to your question is yes.

As to exactly what hardware you should choose for your new system, get back to us in September.
 
There's supposed to be a ton of stuff happening in Q3 - Intel is slashing prices and bringing out Penryn, and AMD should have Barcelona off the ground by then. Vista may have a full service pack around that time as well, which will be more than welcome.
 
Yeah I was debating with myself if I should build a new rig or wait for this new tech coming out, I should be building my new rig within 3 weeks 😛

Q3 being June, July, August? I can wait that long for a new build.

Any new DX10 videocards?

I did this debate about 3 weeks ago but decided to not wait. My XP2500 and X800 were starting to feel very dated. There is always newer stuff out so unless its a question of waiting a few weeks (I waited for Intel price drops) I would do the update 🙂

Into October too, most likely. A little past Q3, but it's not certain exactly certain when.

ATI's new DX10 cards are coming next week, and I wouldn't be surprised if Nvidia had the 8900 series cards out by Q3 of this year as well.
