when to endorse a check...

the checks written to myself to deposit $1 into my ING account to establish a new checking account as an account that can fund the Savings account, does anyone know if i need to endorse this for it to be properly delt with?

it says so on their site, in order to add more checking accounts to be able to fund the savings account you need to mail them a check.

It won't, but a signature is not just a signature :)

if its only for deposit and if you don't endorse it, they will simply stamp on the back that it was credited to your account and deposit it.

the only time something must be endorsed is if it specifically states that you must personally endorse it (like most social security or pension checks who want to verify if you are living before they pay the check) or if you are cashing or taking cash back from it
