Like Hell's Kitchen, MasterChef is overly dramatic. It's like American Idol, but for food. People will tell their sob story, people cry, and they get an apron for it. I still watch it though :\

Man vs Food is good every once in a while, but only to see the crazy meals. It's not especially interesting to watch the guy eat (and sometimes fail).

It's awesome, that's why. It's quick, not overly dramatic like some of the shows, plus it's awesome to see what they can prepare with the mystery basket of ingredients. Good times all around. :thumbsup:

thats the original, and the only cooking competition i ever really liked. the US version isnt anywhere near as interesting and i couldnt get into it.

I liked top chef for a while...but it got to be so annoying to watch them drag it out to fill an hour, which is how i usually feel about other competition shows.

love cooking, love good food, dont love blathering bullshit that fills the competition shows, however.

Chopped is good. Hate most of the other food competition shows. The new Iron Chef isn't anywhere as good as the Japanese version (no surprise). Man-v-Food is alright (if you consider that competition).

The original iron chef was fantastic just for the overdramatic stuff and the floor reporter.

Chopped dominates all other food competition shows. It's the only one I'll actually stop what I'm doing to watch, rather than end up watching. The mystery baskets are often hilarious and extremely difficult, some one cuts themselves every other episode and the pacing is just great. I am entertained.

The "Challenge" show where they build a cake that probably tastes like ass but looks like something is shit. It's also pointless, once you put wood dowels and cover it disgusting fondant it ceases to be about food and is instead just a timed sculpting competition involving a crappy medium. But the cupcake wars is hands down the shittiest show. So fucking boring, a total let down at the end and why do all the contestants love red velvet cake so much?
