when storing a hydraulic floor jack, do you leave the valve open, closed

typically closed so it's ready to use again. from what i know of pumps and hydraulic systems, it doesn't really matter. it's not like there's alot of pressure in the system with no load on it.

Let me google that for you... DOH!

I usually leave it open as well, that way it doesn't raise up as I'm yanking it around while putting it away and sliding it back under the car.

I leave it closed. I don't want to spray oil all over the place when I'm pulling it out into my driveway.

QFT and loose can cause the oil to spill out if you store it anything but flat. I have a small 2 ton jack in a case that would leak if I laid it with the jack upside down and loose.
