when should i set up raid1?

i just ordered 2 w.d. 200gb hds for storage in raid1 and am using a seagate 7200.8 160gb for my programs and games. is it easier to set up a new windows instalation on the seagate and set up the raid at the same time, or should i just set up the raid seperately because i am not putting windows on it. i am also looking for driver suggestions. thanks
 
I think you should do it at installation.
When the array is built, straight after installation, BREAK it , and see if it recovers successfully. That way, you are less likely to cry in a couple of years when you find the array didn't do what it was supposed to do.
