When running service pack 2 it takes forever to log in.

Anyone else have this problem?

p4 2.0ghz
512mb pc2100 + 256mb pc2700 ram


It started up MUCH faster with sp1. any suggestions?

I recommend a defrag,after my SP2 update I had files all over the place,defrag helped with my performance.

You tried Bootvis as well?..Sounds like you have a problem if it takes that long,but try the things I meantioned and see if that cuts the time down.

Any network-related apps running at startup that might conflict with the firewall?

thanks mem, and mrchad, how would i tell if they are conflicting? I run a router but would that slow it down?
