Makes sense as there is little practical difference between cow manure tossing and pulling the lever for Bush.
And in Kalifornia, there is little difference between sparking a bong and pulling the lever for Kerry;) All in the thumb...
Good point. That's why I'm still offering to trade my CA Kerry vote for a Nader vote in a swing state. Any takers? :D

Nice try. Let me know when California has an official brochure about sparking bongs.

They're out there guys. Red staters. They really do exist. And they're weird, backwards, and frightening....

No I just grew up in the country, registered independent, vote a split ticket.

& I know things like cattle are slaughtered for my burgers, where eggs come from etc, you haven't lived until you wing a cow chip @ a buddy while hunting.

My dad had a theory that the further away you grew up from the food chain that the more illogical one becomes. I'm really starting to agree with him.

Throwing cow chips isn't partisan & re-enacting a war that the South lost IMHO isn't politically incorrect.

You really are irritating.

PS, why don't you enable your profile?

I enjoy watching a liberal like yourself continue to spew stereotypes and smear entire regions of the country. I just makes my day to see you fall into it over and over.

Ummm... this is from an official brochure. What part of that don't you understand? The evidence is in front of your eyes. I'm not smearing, I'm pointing out what you advertise to others. Should I not look at your red-state brochures anymore? (oh wait I never did anyway 'cause nobody wants to visit)

Of course not. Your brochures are effective in making this stays the same.

Sorry if I fly over once in a while. Are the planes noisy there?

Not where I live. You know...on a hill, surroounded by trees, overlooking a lake. It's quite peaceful and beautiful. Wouldn't want the likes of you here spoiling it.

Not that I care, but Oklahoma isn't a southern state...
I was going to say that . . . then I thought: high rate of poverty, weak educational system, high illiteracy, and voting Republican. It may not be geographically south/southeast but it's certainly making a strong case.

Wait, I thought all Republicans were rich white corporate types? You guys really need to stick to one racist stereotype.
Go back and read what I said in my first post. Oklahoma is majority Democrat and has been controlled by the Democrats since it became a state in 1907 except for 2 years in the 1920's when Republican's controlled the state legislature. Now, tell me......who created the problems that you are dogging the state over?
Dude, like that matters. North Carolina has been largely run by Democrats since it became a state in 1789. Fortunately, many of the latter day retards (Jesse Helms, Libby Dole) are now Republicans . . . explains a lot, huh?

John Edwards expended a lot of effort on OK b/c it has a lot in common with NC/SC.

OK stats per FedStatsBelow the national average in household income, below the national average in bachelor degrees, below the national average in per capita income, and above the national average for families and individuals living in poverty. It's not surprising that they sent two turds (James Inhofe and Don Nickles) to the Senate.

Every state has warts . . . don't be so defensive.
My point was that in your original post it seemed to me that you were trying to say that the state is poor, uneducated, etc.....and then saying that is because it is full of Republicans. I was pointing out that the state is majority Democrat and that for all of the state's history except for 2 years the Democrats have been in control here.

As for our current Senators. I've met them both on several occasions. Yes Inhofe can be an ass, but anyone who knows Nickles would never say he was a turd. You may not agree with him, but he is a man of convictions and does what he believes is best for the state. He's really a good man.

That is not the right way to put it. Oklahoma has more democrats for sure.
But Oklahoma has far more Conservatives than liberals/moderates.
A lot of democrats are going to vote for Bush.

The CNN Story

It was also riddled with spelling, grammatical and factual mistakes.

Oklahoma tourism officials have recalled about 200,000 brochures with images of activities that may have seemed uninviting to some travelers, such as cow manure tossing and re-enacting Confederate battles, officials said Wednesday.

"Yeee-haw come and see our cow manure and see how one day we're saluting the flag and the other day we're fighting against it."

I'll bet most people to visit the US from overseas fly over the red states.

Evidently there's a correlation between voting for Bush and an interest in manure! Wooooh-yeah.

Edit: apparently Oklahoma isn't a "southern" state. Fooled me with all the confedearte flag worhshipping.

oklahoma also wasnt in the civil war, so im wondering why they would recreate civil war battles.....

There were some battles here

One thing I spot that is wrong on that site is that they have Round Mountain being too far West...it's actually in the Western part of Tulsa County, not where they are showing it.

yeah, but oklahoma wasnt a state in 1860's [if i remember correctly, oklahoma gained statehood in the early 1900's] so oklahoma didnt participate in the civil, oklahoma territory was just unfortunate enough to have a few battles go through it.

anyways, i didnt know the information you posted. thx for the new info!

We, Oklahoma, became a state in 1907. Honestly the majority of the Civil War battles here were not much more than one Indian tribe fighting against another due to some old grudge. It was just convenient for them to take up the banner of either the Union or the Confederacy in order to get a little help from those sides.

Agreed.

I actually agree with the economic ideology and most social issues of the left...but the inherent smugness of a few loud Infohawk types is what keeps me moderate...

It is people like him that are killing the Democratic Party......of course it's people like Rip that will eventually kill the Republican Party as well.....ok....maybe not kill them....but eventually the extremists will drive the normal people out and a 3rd party will rise.
