When purchasing anything that you can round up, do you?

Im referring to when you purchase gas at the pump, using CC or cash, do you round up to the nearest Whole dollar? Or when tipping at a restraunt, do you add enough change to make it a whole number as well?

i do, but i might be weird like that, makes it easy to look at my CC bill and find if my CC was used at a gas station, or restraunt w/o my knowledge, although it sorta is destroyed by the regular purchases, but i just find this to be nice and easy.

I always round up for gas.. It's never like $21.64... it's always.. $20 or $25

Same with tips for the most part, unless I am trying to unload unwanted change which is in my wallet's change pocket (no one likes that)

90% of the time i pay with my debit card, which i use as credit so bank of america "keeps the change" (rounds up to the nearest dollar and puts it into my savings account)

I do this with the tip at a restaurant. If my share comes to $8, I'll pay with a $10 if the service is good or $9 if the service is poor.

Can't say that I do this anywher eelse though, as tipping is only mandatory when you're eating out. And yes, tipping IS mandatory. You're only allowed to not leave tip if the service was horrific. You're an asshole if you don't leave tip and don't have a good reason.

Did you see that thread where apparently Tiger Woods said something about the restaurant should be paying competitive wages for the waitress, therefore not needing a tip on 3 hours of service and a $600 bill... Optional IMO is only for certain occasions. I believe he should have left a freakin tip for gods' sakes.

Nope. Well I rarely pump my own gas since I live in NJ, but when I do I don't top it off. At a restaurant I leave a tip of a whole dollar amount. In my head I figure that's better for the waitress since she doesn't have to deal with change, but in reality I'm sure she doesn't actually get the money until the end of the night when it's all combined, and then the kitchen staff get their share, etc. Meh.
