Funny part about this post is one of my coworkers came over and asked how's married life...

I'm thinking to myself same way it was before, ya think it changed in the last 2 days that you asked me.

"Yeah she sucks, think I'll trade her in on a new model"

Because they have been there done that and waiting for the big stone (called OMFG why did I get married) hanging over your head to fall.

just to be kind and to acknowledge that you two are married...
when someone asks that to me, i say "we haven't killed each other yet" :p
they smile and leave it be... until they ask "when are kids coming?"

Well for a lot of people it's a huge change. For a lot of people it's the first time living together.

I got married once. Only lasted 4 months. A few days into it was already hell.
So yeah anything can happen. It's not the same for everyone and people are curious how it's going and what you think.

Hmm, I don't plan on getting married unless El Pre Nup-O is in effect. And once I have that, who cares what happens to the marriage. Obviously I'll want to maintain it (why the fvck did i get married if I didn't) but if something comes up, ie "extramarital affair", I can bounce without having my balls ripped away in court. Not to mention the money.

Because people generally suck at making real conversation, so they resort to smalltalk.

WTFBBQ!!!! That's GREAT!!! :D As someone who has "lived in sin" multiple times, AND has a Catholic family, I can really identify with this.

I gave up on that waste of money and time called organized religion 20 years ago.

This comment is quote worthy. You win! Winnnnnnar!!!!!

"Hi, I would like to acknowledge that we still know eachother although I couldn't care less if you'd die and I'd have to talk to someone else instead to get some human attention" just doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

I've dont it a couple times. I guess it's just a casual and comfortable way of asking how the transition is.

It's just small talk. Why does it bother you so much?
