We have become so PC that stupidity doesn't begin to describe it.

Whoever came up with "war on terror" was a total moron. These political concept wars are beyond ignorant. War on drugs, War on terror, War on crime, War on poverty, just fucking stupid. Wars are fought between soveriegn countries not one country against some nameless faceless concept like terrorism. The real truth nobody wants to face is that a large part of our population earns a living supporting the US military/LE machine and unless we continually invent boogey men to blow up, penalize, and or incarcerate our unemployment rate would quickly go over 20%. If all the troops were brought home from Afgh and Iraq tomorrow what do you think our unemployment rate would be? Wearing camo and killing brown people is the new blue collar profession replacing factory workers of yesteryear

That would be Bush, in yet another attempt to be PC. In order to not offend "good Muslims" we can't declare war on "Islamic terrorists", so it had to be "Terror" which is even more lame. Just as we are not going to go bombing Basque separatists, neither are we going to go after the Islamic Brotherhood as long as it is strictly attacking secular Muslim governments and not us. We should have declared war on "al Qaeda and associated groups, and nations supporting these groups" or something like that. And we should have actually used the unequivocal words "declaration of war" or some such so that everyone agrees we actually are at war, which is not the case today. This is what comes of a Congress full of lawyers, they want to have their cake and eat it too by authorizing military action whilst still retaining an excuse if public opinion turns against it.

We are not fighting a war on terror, we are fighting a war against Islamic fundis who use terror - but PR people told Bush drop Islamic from name and instead euphemistically describe it - I agree it should be done on down low though but lots of cash to be made making a big production out of it. And Iraq OMG what a catastrophe.

I don't know, a trillion dollars spent and 1000 soldiers dead, plus not raising taxes to pay for the war....... great job, it's really working out well.

IIRC, Bush was originally going to refer to it all as a "Crusade"...

Absolutely brilliant, huh?

Really? I don't recall that, but if true, that would have been ridiculously bad considering AQ leadership gets its kicks by calling us "Crusaders."

Don't worry. You may be #2, but you are trying oh so hard. Note the pride you take in adopting their tactics.

As bad as the Reps are, you are rapidly proving my long held point and that there's not a bit of difference between them and the Dems.

Both power hungry children put in charge of the most powerful government in the world.

George Washington was right.
