When moving in games the player will NOT stop moving when key is let go. For 5 more seconds guy moves.

Ok Im near my wits end with all this. First off Im using a wired keyboard and mouse. I have switched them for others to make sure it wasnt that causing the problems. I have disabled sticky keys, and gone as far as redoing my entire system with a totally different mother board, and yet I am still having a problem, for example in games like Serious Sam, or Half Life 2, I depress the walk button (w), and it will sometimes continue to move when I let it go. In Half Life and pain killer it will continue to walk, and I can move right and left with the mouse still, but with serious same it just keeps walking for a good 5 more seconds before I have full control.

If I just keep tapping (w), it wont stick, but doesnt do me much good when I got to move out of the way of being fired upon or killed. But Im just getting sooo pissed off that I cannot play my games because of something I got on my pc.

I have looked for spyware, found nothing.
I have looked for a Virus, found nothing.
This set up now is a totally fresh set up with a different hardware config, but yet doing the same thing.
I have tried using the keyboard in the usb ports along with the ps2 ports.
I am running a 939 4000+ with 1.5 gigs of ram and a X1900GT card, none of which is being over clocked.
I have the drivers installed for both my keyboard and mouse and updated drivers for everything else.
ONLY DOES THIS in first person shooter games! I can do racing games with no problems or sticking, go figure!
Using onboard sound now, HD ALC880 Chipset, but was doing this with a Hercules Game Theater Digifire 7.1, and even tried a Sound Blaster Life card as well just on the off chance that was causing it.

My only thing I can guess is one of my games has a copy protection on it that is messing up my system, but for the life of me I dont know which one it would be or where to start.

I just need some help if others have had this happen and what they did to fix this, I have nothing more to my life since getting hurt then neffing on anandtech and playing games, and I cant stand to lose being able to play my games, Id go nuts just sitting here waiting to go to bed or die. So ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

TYIA!

This is not highly technical.

Then tell me how to fix it easily 😉

its not a memory problem, or programing, software, operating, wont fall under gaming because it doesnt happen all the time, its not a console, or a graphics card, overclocking, motherboard, power supply, case orr cooling, nor network, and cant be peripherals because it happens with wired, or wireless, and with different brands of keyboards and mice, so whats left 🙂
I have done everything I can think of to cut all the above out and I am totally stumped, meaning this is more technical then I can come up with or find, and looking for help in the one section that this should be easy for those who deal with highly technical stuff all the time. And if not its not only stumped me, but some really big brains in here as well.

So if its not highly technical, please tell me my easy fix, that I have not yet tried, so I can go play 😉

Highly Technical does NOT mean "Advanced Tech support problems HERE!!" It is a forum for discussion of things like new technology or maybe how a processor is developed ect. Just because there is no easy answer doesn't instantly mean that it must be a highly technical question, it just means the solution will be harder to find.

this can easily fall into "Computer Help", or "PC Gaming". as it relates to both. (even though it doesn't happen all the time.

Go check and see if you have sticky keys enabled in windows. Windows has the option to hold a key down if you tap it a couple of times.
