and does anybody know if I order a Asus motherboard, will they take care of the fan issue themself before sending it to me since those fans are being replaced for free like its a defect anyways?

Custom is just their standard house-brand pre-assembled and tested machines. Custom modded is the same machines, but with stupid crap like windows on the side panels and lights inside. It takes all the "mod" out of modding, and pretty much takes away any possible bragging rights or coolness.

To my knowledge they give you exactly what comes out of the mobo box. Whatever fan or heatpipe cooling system is on it thats what you get. Now, if the fan fails during their burn in testing I think they just replace the mobo altogether and try again (no cost to customer). Supposedly the newer ASUS mobos have the 2nd revision fans on them and should work as claimed. I highly reccomend getting the Monarch 3yr onsite warranty. Its worth the $99.

We have nothing pre-built in our production warehouse, each system is built to spec. The custom modded systems have a few more options as far as what we will actually do during the build. For most, the Custom PC selection will be more than sufficient for their needs.

thats not very helpful. If I'm going to be paying more for custom modded system, I'd liek to know what I'm getting or what exactly you do thats worth the extra money.

Here are the main differences of the Custom vs Modded:

1. The ability to choose 4 HDDs, vs the 2 in the regular
2. You can have 3 opticals, vs. 2 in the regular
3. Mod kits are available in the modded
4. Case light in the modded
