I gave my apps to my guidance counselor since she would add in her recommendation and my HS transcript. I'm pretty sure they were mailed first class with nothing extra added. Of course, I made copies of the applications before hand in case they were lost in the mail.

I did my Embry Riddle one online. For RPI I used normal first class and they sent a card saying they had received it, as well as having an ID number I could check online. Both also let me know online that they had received my transcript. Embry actually let me know I had been accepted online too.

I go to RPI btw.

unless rules have changed, your school has to send the transcript.

My college apps were sent in 1998 and I mailed my own transcripts...

Put worn women's underwear in the package. Interesting interviews followed.

SWAK.

Certified can't be a bad idea for the $3 it will cost you. None of the other things really mean much. Unless you are facing a deadline, it doesn't really matter how quickly it gets there, right?

Since I waited for the last minute on all my apps that needed to be mailed...everything was overnighted. ****** costed me like 16 bucks each.

I'd imagine. Used panties are a total icebreaker

It's a requirement at the most prestigious universities of Japan.

? Or not... the admissions departments I've seen have unbelievable amounts of paper flying around during that special time of year, lol.

I did both of my university applications online. If you went to cegep (something you do between grade 11 and university for 2 years) in this province the universities can simply pull your transcript from the Ministry of Education.

I really didn't have to do anything special to get into engineering. Sent in my applications and heard back in a couple weeks that I was accepted to both.

Yeah they do :)

And they print out your essays and most of your app to consider you anyway :)

I sent an application priority mail once, with delivery confirmation. It never showed up as delivered, and the USPS wasn't willing to do much about it. I checked with the school though, and they did actually receive the application.

I think I overnighted a few of mine because I was coming deathly close to the deadline...

Whay are you mailing? Doesn't the University you're applying to have an online app? I did that for all of mine. Aside from your transcript (which the school has to send) and a few forms 80% of the paperwork can be completed and submitted online.
