Some people work to live and enjoy life.

Some people live to work and enjoy life working

Some people love what they do at work and enjoy life all around.

I hate my job and I hate my life... where does that fit in? I'm happy to go to work to get away from my life, realize how much work sucks, then i'm happy to come home to get away from work, then realize how much life sucks... etc.

Where is the option for "Workaholic because it distracts from the fact that there is no joy in life?"

I like this response. I don't mind staying later at work because life outside of work has no real goal or objective - you just exist. At least at work I can keep my mind busy with work that I find very challenging intellectually.

I love what I do at work, but my life is generally boring. It doesn't mean I live to work though that's for sure.

I enjoy my job and my work ethic keeps be there 2-3 hours late and working on the weekends sometime, but I still maintain that I work to live.

It depends on how I'm feelin'. Sometimes I like what I'm doing... sometimes I'd rather be sleeping :D.

I work in sales, so it's less of a job and more of a lifestyle in itself. I have lots of responsibilities, but at the same time I have the freedom to balance them with the rest of my non-work-related goals and responsibilities.

For most of my life, I lived to work.50, 60, 70 hours per week or more, and usually those jobs required a minimum of 3 hours daily commute. It took my wife 26 years to finally get me to take a vacation...that almost cost me a divorce...Then, a few years later, I got hurt at work, (still working 60 hours/week and 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 hour daily commutes)
Yesterday made 4 years since I last worked. Not out of choice, but I can no longer do the kind of work I did for 30+ years. (and very little of any other kind)
I'm attending school for the first time since 1970...and having a ball!
We now vacation whenever we can...even if it's only a 3 day weekend somewhere.

I don't dislike my job...but I don't really enjoy it, either. I do it cuz I'm good at it. Although really, I don't like anything I'm "forced" to do, so chances are I wouldn't like my job no matter what it was.

I work to live, I'd much rather be at home with the wife, kiddies and gaming pc. Not always necessarily in that order. :p

I like my job, but if I never had to work again I would be ok with that. ;)

I work hard so I may play hard.
