last phone I'm gonna get is the moto x
Going to go green(no hippie)
When you try out a new phone and it isn't that much more fluid than your current phone.
Yeah, I figure my MotoX will last like 10 years.
As hardware gets beefier, software expands to push it.
Current flagships are probably good for two years easily and likely longer, but 10 years (i know, hyperbole) on, we'll have a whole new ball game.
I'm hoping to go at least three years with my Nexus 5.
I hope I didn't get you hooked thereI've already quit but the 1+1 has me interested enough to follow the information releases. But if it's not the be-all-end-all phone then my GS4 will last me another two years I'd imagine.
I hope I didn't get you hooked there![]()
But TBH they weren't even on my radar til yesterday. I thought it was just another Oppo, Pantech, blah blah blah, but the more I read the more I'm impressed. Even if it's not the perfect phone everyone wanted, they've been more transparent in the design process than anyone could ask for. If it turns out as good as it does on paper, then I'm fairly impressed.
All of the really creative stuff has already been done with the accelerometer and enhanced reality stuff.
In the very recent face of Project Tango, you're fairly short-sighted.
Just look at where Android and iOS were 3 years ago. We've already had a massive sea change in our phone's software, and it wouldn't have been possible without more powerful hardware.
These phones will easily feel good for the entire duration of a mobile contract, I'm not arguing that. I'm just saying that expecting more than 3 or 4 years might not be a reasonable expectation.
