When is the next product family due?

Will it be at least another 9 months before a new NVidia card is released?

How about AMD?

What will the relative speeds be of each when compared to the 10XX series?

NV? About 5 months to their usual annual launch period, which tends to give +~30% or so. Some non titan titan stuff is logically due fairly soon, quite how they deal with it less clear.

Could launch it above the 1080, they could rebrand/refresh everything and slot it into the 1080's current spot. Also not entirely clear when Volta is going to drop, still a while anyway.

Volta is the next architecture from NV, but there's still mainstream big Pascal to come. That might go Maxwell style and be an 1080ti, or they might go 11xx with them all. They know, we don't

Is that much of Pascal's potential still to be unlocked?

Depends if you count the Pascal titan as really existing or not There'll be a 'gaming' version of that with a rather saner price/AIB coolers etc and that'll obviously easily beat the 1080. Probably theoretically by enough to do two SKU's using it - one full, one cut down a bit. Only if they want to of course, they might not!

Maybe modest refinements to be had elsewhere in the range.
