When is the Iwill DK8ES coming out

according to forums.2cpu.com, mass production is supposed to begin in the first half of december, so unless you are real tight with some suppliers, the odds of getting it by christmas look bleak

you are aware that the second slot only has a 2x logical connection? (yes it's a 16x physical slot, but you will only get 2x bandwidth out of it)

you might want to consider the tyan s2895, it uses dual nforce4 chipsets so it can actually support real dual 16x slots

either way, you can just give a photograph, if i was receiving something like this, i wouldn't mind waiting a bit

When will we see ANY nforce4 motherboards?

Any at all.

Ready to upgraade and almost did over the weekend (A8v), Neo Plat 2, but for me the NCQ is key and I really like that idea, even if it's not fully supported out the door.

thanks

Hey thanks for the lettin me know bout the PCI-E clost on the Iwill board, that would've succked to get and get sh!t performance for the othe Vid Card.

Will def check out the Tyan BOard.

Thanks,

~new

Iwill's makin a sweet dual Opteron/NF4 SLI board comin out eventually. Dual Opteron + SLI would be sweet.

Mrvile: that would be the DK8ES, which this thread is about

newParadime: 2x will not get you "sh!t performance", for most games benchmarks aren't showing much difference between 2x and 16x as no game uses that much bandwidth. It certainly does impact pro applications, but most games wouldn't be too bad

there may be more impact for future games, just something to keep in mind

while the tyan will have full dual 16x, having dual nForce4s will probably lead to it's own issues and complications and will make the board hella expensive

if gaming performance is key, might want to consider one of the xeon boards that has an 8/8 split instead of 16/2

u do know that in sli, each pci-e slot becomes only 8x. they are split to total up 16x. from what i've heard, 2x has enough bandwidth to even support the top of the line video card now. even if not true, this just shows how much bandwidth pci-e has available.

on some boards the split is configurable from 16/0 to 8/8, on the DK8ES the split is always 16/2 and on that tyan it is always a full 16/16

Siunce money will not be an obstacle for this system, the only concern for the Tyan Board would bne complications with teh daul nForce 4
