When is the emergency room the least busy?

This is the second time I've been rear ended and I recall the last time I went, I wasted hours just waiting at the ER.

I'm hoping to go when there would be least amount of wait. I already called my regular doc to get an appointment with them, but they said I should go to the ER.

Also, since this is the second time this has happened (my car being rear ended), I'm a little hesitant to volunteer I was rear ended before to the other person's insurance because I feel like they would try to worm their way out of paying (obviously their business)..

And any need to report this to my own insurance? I only have liability on this car, so I don't believe my own insurance needs to be called...

Go before the old people wake up. When they're conscious they begin to feel something wrong and there's that lag between 'this isn't good' until they can tell someone. Add the transport times for ambulances and you have busy mornings. So 4 am. Unless it's a holdiay weekend and never on Monday mornings because everyone hasn't been able to see their primary care physician for the last 3 days.

Cliffs: Wednesday 4 am.

Just call the E.R. and schedule it. rofles

Having some sore/stiffness (yea, have fun with that one guys). For insurance purposes, I basically have to get that documented.

Unless you are in pain or something is otherwise wrong with you, it makes no sense to go to the ER. A precautionary checkup after an accident should be a regular doctor's visit.

EDIT: Ah, you posted the issue just as I posted this. Still, it doesn't really sound ER-worthy, but your call. I had a similar accident a few years back and I just got a regular appointment.

I wouldn't discuss anything with the other person's insurance other than what happened. Even then I'd just call my own company and have them handle it.

Urgent care is going to be a lot quicker than the ER...do you really have a need to go to one though?

You would rofl, but we have at least one or two people a day call our ER and try to schedule an appointment.

Urgent Care centers for me are always less then 30 min, Idk about you.

I got rear ended when I was 16. Since my parents were both not reachable on their phones, I was forced to go to the ER even though I was fine. They did not have enough rooms and I was lying down strapped to a stretcher for about 4 hours IN THE HALLWAY.

Since you're asking when it's least busy at the ER so you can plan your visit, that's a good indication that you shouldn't go to the ER. When you need to go to the ER, you don't wait. (Edit: That's probably why it took so long last time)

Regarding your insurance - depends on where you live. If you live in a state with no-fault insurance, then your insurance company would cover your medical bills and then try to recover it from the other insurance company.

Not sure you want to withhold information. If this does get to arbitration or court it would not look good if you are found to be less than truthful.

we have a hospital here that claims a 10 minute wait before a triage nurse will see you ...

I haven't used it, thank goodness, but it sounds promising. I bet the wait after you see a nurse is longer, but still would be nice to actually SEE someone other than a receptionist.

Did you get the police on scene when the accident happened?

Why didn't you go as soon as it happened?

Are you in pain? Do you have injuries?

If you need to go because you were in an accident but don't need to go right away, then wtf do you need to go at all?

Only time I've gone to the ER from an accident was in an ambulance, no wait and real injuries.

hi, this dude you insure ran into me, btw, someone else rear ended me before


why does that matter? if the last time wasnt his fault it shouldnt come up, and if he got rear ended this time and called the police and such, the police should have documented whoever they determine to be at fault.

I have a disabled kid so I spend way too much time at the ER. Absolute best time to go was 6AM on Easter Sunday. We were the ONLY people there - never known that to happen before.

2-3-4 AM can be less busy but be careful what you're going for - they assume at that hour that everything is drug related, and they're really really nasty. And you can't just say you don't do drugs, everybody says that.

I find that if you are in an ambulance, they're more likely to take you quickly.

LOL...that doesn't mean anything. Triage nurse can see you within 30 seconds...but it'll still take forever for the OP to be actually seen/treated by the ER staff. His symptoms are going to be the lowest priority there.

Urgent Care is where he should go...if he feels he needs care sooner than his doctor's appt.

Its usually a off Branch from a hospital, they have x ray machines and nurses..ect If you need more car they send you to the the main hospital. They have beds..ect

When I hit my head pretty hard, I went there at night, should of gone earlier like at 3 when it happened, any ways when I got to the urgent care center, all the pain stopped as I got there which was weird, No more light sensitivity,headache was not as bad. After 20min wait, They took x rays of my neck and stuff to make sure nothing was fractured. They wanted to send me to the hospital but we denied because I was feeling alot better already and there was no fractures or anything.

It might not be the best, but they will see you tons faster then a ER.

I don't understand how people who get in car accidents get hurt. Okay, sure sure... I understand if the force caused you to hit your head or something like that. But if a car runs into you from behind, and it just jolts the car around, how do people all of a sudden get to be in pain? I think they're all bullshitters collecting on workers comp and/or insurance and/or they are trash.
