When is the 9700t going to be released to public

I was looking to build a htpc in sff. Intel website says it is released already, but I can't find it online.

Looks like it's a low wattage part just like all the previous T versions. 35W TDP is pretty good for 8c8t CPU which makes it play nice with small cases.

I do think it's overkill for HTPC. I would advise OP to get AMD 2200G/2400G/3200G/3400G and be done with it, it's going to be plenty for HTPC at a fraction of the price.

If Core i7 8700T was not 35W TDP CPU but rather 82W TDP CPU as per Computerbase tests: https://www.computerbase.de/2018-06/intel-core-i7-8700t-i5-8500t-cpu-test-coffee-lake/3/ the more 9700T will not be. I cannot find a link but some was testing power states of 9700T and it was 92W.

I need it to be intel cpu so i can use it to play 4k blu rays. For some reason you need intel IG to play 4k blu ray

Just get a 9700 or 9700K and change the TDP in the BIOS. Honestly you probably wouldn't even need to change anything as it will thermally throttle itself if it needed to anyways.

I think it's may require Play Ready or something like that for the DRM, which I believe only Intel supports ATM. Actually, Radeon 5700 Series supports it now, too, so that should work as well. (If that is indeed the issue)

Yes, but a little more info.

Large cooler, like BeQuiet! Shadow Rock 2, and OP can set the power limit of the CPU to be hard capped at 45W, and lower the voltage on the CPU, if OP's Mobo allows this, by 0.125v. That way the CPU will stay completely cool and will lower the power draw, while maintaining relatively high clocks.

Anybody can do the same thing with for example 9400F. Lower the voltage by 0.125v and you get around 10W lower power draw while still maintaining the same clock speeds.
