they gave him a hard time about doping before the probe vindicated him too. but I wouldn't say he hates the french, he lives there most of the year training.

you're right, he lives in girona, spain now after moving from nice, france in 2001.
 
One other thing: Tyler Hamilton is THE MAN. Not only did he stay with Armstrong and attack several times on the final climb....he did so with a right collarbone broken in two places. That is unbelievably ballsy IMHO.
