Recently found out one of my high-school teachers married a girl 2 years younger than me. Mind you I graduated high school 7 years ago and they got married ~2 years ago, so she would have been ~3 or 4 years removed from high school. But still weird no?

There was definitely something going between them when I was there (she had a notebook full of drawings of him, would always talk with him after/between classes) but (apparently) her parents did not allow them to see each other outside of school (for obvious reasons!) so they mostly communicated via written notes.

Soon as they are out of school and 18 I imagine for most places. Should be legal for female teachers at any point tho imo!

As far as I'm concerned the only rules of teaching should be not doing anything with your own students, and not messing with significantly underage persons. I'm not a fan of 18yr old AoC in general, so I won't even go that far.

Whatever two reasonably mature individuals choose to do with each other, as long as there's not a direct conflict of interests, should be nobody else's business.

Legally, immediately after graduation/AoC. Socially, I would probably consider it a little weird without any time separating the kid's lifestyles between student and adult.

Is this teacher-student with respect to only High school? I married a teacher, but she went to the same university I did. She could have been a teacher had the timing been right.

A friend of mine was sexually seeing a TA during a class she had taken he TA'd for, but it didn't help her in their grades. They are married with children. Oops, TA = Teaching Assistant, and this was also a university setting.

As long as both are of legal age (defined by state as being adults) and they are not in the same teacher-student setting I am finding it hard to see the legality in question. Seems only cross the moral boundaries of normalcy for some.

Mind you the news presents only cases in which one of the individuals is not of legal age, and that is just wrong unless I'm 16 again and my teacher is Angeline Jolie.

Once she is out of school, there's nothing wrong with them seeing each other. They both have free will to do whatever they want.

As soon as she turns 18 and the stork delivers her breasts.

Also, the stork usually comes early nowadays.

Depends on the age of the teacher/student. 21-22 year old teacher, just out of college, teaching for the first year, and older (19) student in high school? Not really a huge deal. But, I've seen a 30+ coach marry an 18 year old girl shortly after her graduation. VERY weird. And the type of thing that makes people think twice about having such a coach employed by the school district (I think his coaching days were finished.)

Find a new job in order to bang the hottie? Yeah, I'm not seeing a serious dilemma there. And that's just for lust...if it's true love (which is honestly possible) then it's even more permissible.

Wow, I strongly disagree, Dr. P! It's a line a teacher should never cross with a student while both are in the same school, ever, imho.

How can you think otherwise?

As long as she is hot & she lets the student toss her salad, then its ok.
