When is another 2xGPU card coming out?

First of all, I'm not exactly sure how to google for this, so I thought I'd ask it here.

I'm interested in multi-GPU cards such as the 3870x2, but I'm not going to buy right now, and I would like it to be a better card than the 3870x2.

When I upgrade, I will have about $500 to spend.

I'm not interested in crossfire or SLi right now because my second PCIe 2.0 slot is being used by my raid card.

Anyone with good information I will be grateful.

Thanks!

Next card will probably be the 9800GX2 and will probably not be much better than the 3870X2 if at all, we don't know yet.

from what ive read online, and note this is all assumption, the 9800 gx2 is supposed to have a 30% increase on the 8800 ultra at higher resolutions, im guessing 1920x1200 and higher. From reviews ive read on toms and other websites, it seems that the 8800 ultra still outdoes the 3870x2 on dx10 and is on par with DX9, so thats my 2 cents from what ive been reading. I dont think anyone will truly know til it comes out and we get some real benchmarks

Where have you been reading...:/ the X2 is around 20-30% (sometimes more sometimes less) faster than the GTX (close enough to Ultra) in about everything (AT's review) and that was done without the newer 8.3 drivers. Toms is right at the bottom of the pit when it comes to hardware review sites.

So is there anything else to look forward to other than 9800GX2?

I'm not opposed to an ATI card as long as it is well supported with drivers... what is the successor to the 3870x2?

the at review you linked isnt using an ultra, and i know they are close in spec, but there usually is a considerable difference in fps benchmarks when tested.
