When is a good time to get an Internship?

I was thinking after undergrad.

When period of time between your schooling did you take up on an Internship?

I did internships both junior and senior years of my undergrad degree.

Are you planning on going straight to grad after undergrad? Otherwise, I'd think you should be doing internships sophomore and junior summer and then get a full time job afterward your undergrad...

I'd get one as soon as you can get one. Unless you want to go to grad school and can be doing research instead.

The best time to get one is as soon as possible. Internships are like job experience in your field, I can't think of a reason to wait...it may be harder to get them earlier in your undergrad career, but I know people who got them summers before their sophomore years.

I had internships after junior, senior, and 1st year grad (went straight to grad school for an MS), and even still I wish I had tried for one after my sophomore year. It's a time when you can try out different companies (do you want to work in a large, medium, small, start-up, what kind of company culture, etc.) start making connections within your field (for future jobs, recommendations), gain practical experience, and lots more. They're valuable.

If you want to get into a "prestigious" field - hell, any field with this kind of job climate, you should have an internship after both your sophomore and junior years. At least for business/finance/consulting, your Junior year internship is often where you'll go full-time, and you get that internship based on your grades and your past internship(s).

I've done 4 semesters of co-op work and still have 3 more semesters to graduate. I may try to fit one more work semester in.
