When installing a new MOBO, should I flash the BIOS prior to OS installation?

I am building a new system and I have an MSI K8N MOBO Model# MS-7125-BULK. I want to flash the bios to update the board. Should I go ahead and install my OS then flash the board or is it better to flash it before I install the OS?

Generally speaking, it's better to flash the mobo before installing the OS.

Isn't there a windows flasher or can't you use the MSI Live Updater? It would be a lot easier in my opionion. I have often installed WinXP temporarily without registering or anything, update the BIOS, do some benchmarking, and then wipe the PC and istall Linux.

Might as well go ahead & update the BIOS before installing the OS ... most likely it wouldn't matter but in some cases the newer version may fix compatability issues.
