When I turn off my system, it starts by itself after approx 5-10 min. Why?

I replaced my defect Asus motherboard to a new Gigabyte motherboard two days ago. Everything started up fine and also seemed to be ok, until I decided to turn the computer off.

After a few minutes I heard the system boot and I hadn't pressed the power on button. In my opinion a bit confusing. I turned the system off again, waited a few minutes and the same thing happened again.

What can be wrong here?
Could I have connected any cables to the mobo wrong or anything else?

if the connector for the pwr button is dissconnected and this happens, i would reset the bios and make sure the setting "restore power after AC loss" is set to Off... (that would be the most logical problem)... or if that doesnt do it try using a known good power supply, it is possible that ur powersupply isnt truely shutting off, then out of nowhere the pwr good starts comming across and boots the pc...

as with other cables, check to see if everything is correct.. backwards floppy cables (at both ends) etc...

So you're the guy who keeps turning off the zombie box on me. Leave it on, I'm spreading exploits using you as home base. :p

(Seriously, checked for viruses? Patched MS06-040?)

That would be my guess. Try unplugging the lan cable before you turn it off. If it doesn't come back on, there is a setting in BIOS to "Wake on LAN", disable it.
